When it works - it's great... BUT

So, I bought this model fridge a little over 4 years ago. The build date on it is Nov. 2014. I don't know if Samsung has made an engineering improvement on the fan and the fan housing, but, that seems to be the problematic area with my fridge. Like many others who own this model (and I think several others with the same/similar design), you'll discover a number of reviews that mention a loud fan noise. Mine did that. Then, I read how to fix it - watched a couple videos online and set out to fix it myself. It took a couple of hours, but I removed the entire back panel (after removing the shelves), got to the fan and coolant area and discovered a massive ice buildup. Got it all melted and cleaned up... and a little over 4 months later the same fan noise kicked up again.... until the fan stopped entirely about a week later. I just completed my second full tearout of the back panel, melted all the ice, etc. This time I also removed the fan from the back panel and discovered a huge chunk of ice that surrounded the fan box. Anyway, I can't say that I'm too impressed. We bought this refrigerator at close to full price, around $3,000 (if I remember correctly), and I really struggle to see how this thing will last much longer. My patience certainly has depleted enough to go online, find this product, and write this review for others to consider. Our ice maker has been fine... although "cube" ice is mostly half crushed and "crushed" ice is pulverized. But, at least it attempts to function as designed. So now we are considering a replacement and although Samsung has some really cool features, I have a hard time justifying an investment of $2,400 to $3,200 for a refrigerator that may only be problem-free for 4 years.
