Buyer Beware: DO NOT PURCHASE!!!

I bought this refrigerator in October of 2016. Approximately 18 months later it began its (what sounds like standard KitchenAid poor quality) decline. As many have mentioned over and over and over the bottom compartment of the refrigerator section starts to build up ice. So much so that the drawer will not even fully close and store itself properly in the refrigerator. The ice collects so thickly that you can't even remove it with the sharpest knife available. Behind the drawer the ice will be at least 5" thick and below the drawer it's over and inch thick. Obviously this is such a copious amount that you then have to remove ever single item in your refrigerator AND freezer (convenient, right?! Eye roll) and allow it to entirely defrost. The first time it happens you think it's just a fluke. However, after all the work of defrosting it you are quickly proven wrong as it begins to refreeze within DAYS! This refrigerator is a joke, the quality is pathetic that you spend over $3k and it doesn't even last 2 years. I'm not certain why it hasn't been recalled at this point with so many of the same complaints over and over. Or now it even has 4 stars, I'm not sure that math is correct given the number of poor reviews (all the same issue). Sadly when we bought this in 2016 we also replaced our double over, microwave, and dishwasher. We spent almost $9,000.00. However, I guarantee that when we replace the refrigerator we will refinish the other appliances to match and they WILL NOT be KitchenAid. Again, my best description of the quality is PATHETIC. DO NOT PURCHASE!!! Oh, make sure to look at the photos. Notice how thick this ice is-and it's brown bc my child spilled a drink and we couldn't even clean it due to all of the ice. The ice from the bottom had already been removed. It was well over an inch thick. This is what you have to look forward to-currently our drawer isn't even in the refrigerator because it won't fit due to all the ice. I would give this 0 stars if it were an option.
